1. Who we are
MORATO (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us") is the responsible party for the personal information collected on morato.co.za. Our information officer is MORATO (Pty) Ltd, contactable at hello@morato.co.za.
2. What we collect
- Contact details: your name, email address and phone number.
- Delivery details: your address, or the locker you choose.
- Order details: what you bought, payment method (not card numbers), returns and messages you send us.
- Account details: your login email, an encrypted password, saved addresses, wishlist and size preferences.
- Usage details: pages viewed, the site that referred you and the type of device, so we can improve the store.
3. Why we use it
- To process, deliver and support your orders, returns and exchanges.
- To send order, delivery and account emails.
- To send news, drops and offers — only if you opted in. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- To prevent fraud and keep the website secure, and to meet our legal and tax obligations.
4. Who we share it with
- The Courier Guy (TCG), to deliver and collect parcels.
- Our payment provider, to process payments.
- Google, to find delivery lockers near your address (your address only).
- Our email and hosting providers, who store data on our behalf.
- We never sell your personal information.
5. Cross-border transfers
Some of these providers may store information outside South Africa. We only use providers that protect personal information to a standard similar to POPIA.
6. How long we keep it
We keep order and invoice records for at least five years, as tax law requires. Other information is kept only as long as we need it, then deleted or anonymised.
7. Your rights
- Ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it.
- Object to processing, and opt out of marketing at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).

8. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep your bag and login working, and first-party analytics to understand how the store is used. We do not use third-party advertising cookies without your consent.
9. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), store passwords in hashed form and limit access to personal information to staff who need it.

We may update this policy. The latest version is always on this page.
